ME & MY GIRLS

Pooch Smooches features wet puppy kisses and dry humor. Thanks for stopping by the "About Us" page to learn a bit about me and my girls.

But first... if you'd like to subscribe to my oh-so-very-infrequent author newsletter (which always includes a giveaway and NO spam), you can do that here:

Now... let me introduce you to my girls:

Our Tripawd Warrior Princess
Our girl LOVED the beach!
I started the blog in October 2009 to document our journey through bone cancer hell with our rescue pup, Abby. She was only 15 months old when we had to have her leg amputated.

After an amazing additional 15 months, we lost her at only 2 1/2 years old. We will never forget her. She taught us so much about how to handle adversity with grace and run-like-you-got-all-four-paws gusto. (She was so inspirational, I wrote about a fictionalized version of her in my novel, Rescue Me, Maybe.)

Before we had Abby, we had our mischievous beagle, Bailey. She was the hubs' first dog and they loved each other very much! We still miss that crazy kid and talk about her a lot. This is my fave post-bath photo of Bailey, and the painted version done by my sis. (All the paintings are by my sis from Gerard Art.)

Now, we have Rita, our adorable rescue pup from Baja California. She was found on Rosarito Beach. A few days after Abby passed away, my hubs said to the sky one night, "Bailey and Abby, if you're together now, send us a sign." Right after that (even though we'd planned to wait to get another dog) something compelled me to go online and type in "beagle" on PetFinder. Rita's pic came up on the first page of results, and she looked so much like Abby and Bailey had gotten together and had a puppy, that we had to have her. Brought her home the next week.
She looks like a mix of Abby and Bailey. Couldn't resist her!

As for me in a nutshell: I love dogs, books (both reading and writing them), and laughter. If you like dogs and books and laughter too, you might like my debut novel, What the Dog Ate. It's a romantic comedy about a woman trying to find tail-wagging joy with the help of her chocolate Lab, Kona. My second novel, Rescue Me, Maybe, is a love story... for dog lovers. It hit the USA TODAY bestseller list and has over 140 5-star reviews on Amazon. My latest novel, House Trained, is due out October 20, 2015.

Please also check out the rest of the blog or my web site, www.jackiebouchard.com, for links on various other places to buy the books in e-versions, paperback, or even to purchase a signed copy.

Thanks for stopping by! We love comments.
