Rita munches a treat (note all the crumbs around her; slob) |
Well, today was no exception. We stopped by, and she enjoyed a shoe-shaped treat, and then we went on our way.
As we passed the rest of their yard, we stopped to admire their fabulous garden and fruit trees.
And then I noticed there were about 5 or 6 hens running around the yard.
Of course, Rita was way ahead of me in noticing.
Pretty sure Rita thought they were part of the "treats left out for pups"-welcome package.
Luckily their mighty Chihuahua chased us off before Rita could take a stab at sampling one of those treats.
Thanks to Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Alfie’s Blog, and My Brown Newfies for hosting Monday Mischief!
Love that they leave out treats and water! We might have to start doing that too (I think the neighborhood cats would steal it all though!)
ReplyDeleteOMD treats and chucks to chase. What a house? There must be some really nice people living there. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
The dog version of "fast food?"

LOL I did remember about those treats. Such a nice thing for them to do. Somehow I don't think they were offering up their hens, Rita :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, we want to move to your neighborhood! Very cool!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! Flattery would have had the same conclusion that Rita did, but I'm not so sure the Chihuahua would have scared her off...
ReplyDeleteThat is a dogs dream, treats just laying around for the taking.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, now those would be a treat! Happy Monday!

That's so cool that they leave out treats and water! Those chihuahuas are pretty scary ;)
ReplyDeleteTalk about fresh treats! My sister keeps chickens and it's amazing how fast they can run! Just sayin' ;-)
ReplyDeleteO hai! Chickens! Looks like my yard! Don't let Rita pull a Chewy. He got a head start on plucking one of our hens.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, now that's a fresh treat.
ReplyDeleteWow Rita! What restraint you showed! I would have gotten in there somehow! Mom says I wouldn't.

BOL oh my gosh, I was nervous about how this story was going to end! Hens can be pretty tempting, can't they?! ;) I love the idea of leaving treats and water outside for neighborhood dogs - I've seen it done with tennis balls as well! So cute :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a kind gesture for the neighbor to leave snacks for you and others while on a walk.
ReplyDeleteYum, chicken treats...altho, we can't eat chicken anymore because of my IBD...but maybe really fresh chicken would be okay...
ReplyDeleteNo desert this time hey Rita? Tee Hee
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy :)
Oh wow, that is so nice! Can I move into your neighborhood too? Isis would love some of those treats. Better keep the chickens away from her too, though, that would be a dream snack for her!

hahahaha, I do remember you posting that up. How cool to see the chickens. My gang chases the chickens and sometimes catches them.
ReplyDeleteTrader Joes has such tasty cookies! My Gramma always has a box of them at her house! Enjoy, Rita, and try to take as many as you can as one is never enough!
ReplyDeleteOur pack would by-pass the treats for the hens. Food is good, but if it moves, it must be chased and a bonus is the noise they make!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome neighbor!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like those chickens have a guard, for obvious reasons! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Rita probably thought she hit pay dirt at that house!
ReplyDeletehello rita its dennis the vizsla dog hay wow chikkin!!! i heer it taysts like chikkin!!! ok bye
