Wordless (ahem) Wednesday: Giveaway! Gifts To Keep Or To Give!

Excuse me if I am a tiny bit wordy on Wordless Wednesday (you always do, right?), but I wanted to tell you about our special giveaway -- it's a gift from me to you, or for you to pass on to someone else!

After all, who doesn't like a gift?
"It's a SQUIRREL! Just what I've always wanted!"
Here's what you can win:
It's a prize package worth over $50! It could either be a gift all for yourself OR... I could be helping you cross off some items on your gift-buying list!

Here's what all is included:
1. A signed copy of my second novel, Rescue Me, Maybe. (If you've already read it, it makes a lovely gift for a dog-loving family member!)

2. A handmade (by my talented sis!) doggy-themed bookmark. It has 2 charms on it - one is a dog paw, and the other is a tiny dog. So cute! (You're probably going to want to keep this for yourself as it's so adorbs, but would also make a great stocking-stuffer.)
Click to big-ify
3.A Simply Scones recipe book filled with recipes for both sweet and savory scones plus tasty spreads to go along with them. I own a copy of this myself and it's full of good stuff. (If you've read Rescue Me, Maybe, or even just seen the awesome trailer that Sugar and her mom made for me, you know that the main character, Jane, offers to help out her uncle at his B&B. Jane makes many a batch of scones while working there, so you can make yourself a batch to enjoy while you read the book -- I recommend the carrot-nut scones; I make them with a little icing on top and turn them into carrot cake scones! -- or... pair the book with a box of tea and it would make a great last-minute hostess gift.)

4. A tin of Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark PAWS! (If you've read the book, you know the significance of the Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark tin. If you haven't read it, isn't that intriguing? Don't you want to know about the odd purpose Jane uses an empty tin for?? Anyway, I went to W.S. to get the P.B. - and discovered that they now have a "Paws" version, and that was just too perfect. Enjoy them yourself while you read and find out what the heck Jane does with that tin, or give them to a dog- and chocolate-loving friend!)
These look YUMMY.
This is open to everybody! (Although be aware that if you are outside the US, I may not be able to get this stuff to you in time for Christmas. Or Kwanza. Or Festivus. And it definitely won't be in time for Chanukah since that's ending on Dec. 5.)

All you have to do is LEAVE A COMMENT telling me if you're getting/usually get your pet(s) a Christmas present(s). (If I don't "know" you, make sure I know how to reach you.)

You can enter until Tuesday, December 10, at midnight eastern time. Winner will be drawn using Random.org and announced next Wednesday. (Don't leave an extra comment thinking that will up your odds. I'm really anal about copying the comments into excel, deleting any extras and then drawing the number.) :)

In Other News...
Remember I mentioned a while back that both my paperback novels were going to be part of a giveaway to benefit the people effected by Typhoon Haiyan? (I did mention that, right?) Well, it's here! If you like women's fiction/chick lit books there are a lot of cool prizes. Make a tax-deductible donation and be entered to win. Go to the Book Mama Blog to check it out! (While you're there, you could also check out her lovely review of Rescue Me, Maybe.)  :)

Happy Super-wordy Wednesday!

  1. Aww, we'd love to enter!

I always get the dogs a little something something for Christmas. Last year, I just wrapped one of their BarkBox toys up and gave it to them on Christmas Eve. I might actually go out and buy something for them this year :)

  2. All my pets have always had stockings (dogs, cats, birds, fishes, rats) and I love giving them gifts! I like Rita's idea though so I may need to rethink my gifts for the dogs now...

  3. I've always gotten our dogs presents...yes plural. Mostly stuffed toys and treats. No kids, so we go a little nuts with the dogs. My parents would even buy presents for them :)

  4. Wow, cool giveaway! I'll definitely be getting something for Kayo this year - she's been such an amazing trooper over the last few months since I started blogging. She deserves something extra special!

  5. Well we couldn't open presents and let Mr. N just watch us right? We usually get him presents (one is on the way!) and friends and family will sometimes get him something as well.

  11. What a fantastic giveaway! Seriously. (Though Jeffie wants a squirrel like Rita's) The FedEx man should be here today with a box - yes, a big box - of dog toys for my pack. And those are not their only gifts. I am to embarrassed to tell you how much I spend on my dogs for Christmas.

  16. I always get my dogs a variety of treats which are never put under the tree until Christmas because of the Great Gift Destruction of 2009 in which they destroyed the wrapping of not only their gifts, but all the others under the tree. It was paper and assorted gifts everywhere. The next year they got lumps of coal.

  17. We always get our pets gifts, AND their grandparents get them gifts too! This year Dot will be getting Doggles and a new collar and Taco is getting a new bed (because he chewed his old one up)

  22. Oh wow, what an amazing giveaway! You are a very generous spirit. Also, that bookmark is beautiful! But then, I love anything in paw print. :-)

I do usually try to get my pets something for the holidays but last year they both received so many gifts from other friends and family members that we didn't bother. It's not like they knew the difference. ;-)

  23. Perfect giveaways! And yes, Leo always gets Christmas presents! (So does the cat!) Happy Holidays!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I usually end up spending more on the pets than anyone else on my list! But that's total for all 5 of them, dogs and cats, so we don't spoil them TOO badly!
What a great giveaway....my sister really wants your book and that would be cool to have a signed copy for her.

  25. What a great giveaway - all great items to share or keep. I actually don't do gifts for the four-leggers, but my hubby and I also don't do gifts for each other either. We're not scrooges or anything, we're just not "stuff" people AND we're on a tight budget, so we use our shopping money for family. :-)

  26. Woohoo! Awesome stuff :) I just bought my rat a very nice gift today, I guess we can say it's for Christmas. Although I hope to start using it before then. It's a new big cage!

  28. Oooooooo! I am a voracious reader! Count me IN!

Yes, our dogs get gifts for Christmas! They usually fare better than my husband and I do, as a matter of fact. They even have stockings that look like they do. This year, thanks to some reviews I'm doing, they're faring even better than they have in the past.

P.S. You wear the tree skirt as a cape? I think it's possible that you and I might be related somehow, because that totally sounds like something I would do! lol

  38. We always buy our dogs Christmas gifts and we fill their stockings too. Artie and Kouga are so loyal and faithful to our family and we are blessed to share our home with them.

  39. My Bonnie has a little stocking, so yes, she receives a little treat. She's a small dog (Cavalier King Charles spaniel)! We've discovered that she doesn't care much for toys, other than a rubber ball she treats as a soccer ball, so a small bag of Bil-Jac liver treats is her Christmas surprise!

  40. Wrigs hopes he'll be getting something special for Christmas. In his letter to Santa he specified treats or toys--nothing he has to wear. :-) But, he's okay with humans getting something too.
