Tasty Tuesday: Buy These Treats with a Clear Conscience

Rita and I were contacted by Clear Conscience Pet and offered a chance to try some of their yummy treats, so today we are joining the Tasty Tuesday blog hop!

I've said here before that we always read the labels on treats/food we buy for Rita and never buy things from China, so we were happy to hear that Clear Conscience Pet offers USA made and sourced treats. (Note that you have to be even more careful these days! Some treats will say they are "Made in the USA" - but they might be made with ingredients sourced from outside the US.)

All their treats are made using free-range, grass-fed, or organically raised sources. They are also grain-free, gluten-free, and very low in carbs.
Clear Conscience Pet sent us four different things to try:

Lamb Airy Bites: these little puffs of lamby goodness were a big hit with Rita.

Ingredients: lamb lung, air dried organic veggies (spinach, pumpkin, and carrot)
They're a nice little size, so great for training treats. (If you come back for Mirth Watch Thursday, you can see how I employed them!)

Sliders: We got the Beef & Cheddar flavor and these soft-jerky-type treats were another huge hit with Rita. In fact, they were such a hit that I don't have any decent pics of her having them. They're all just kind of a blur. Plus there was a mad scramble when I knocked the bag off the counter and a bunch fell out. (She was extremely pleased about that.)

Ingredients: beef, cheddar cheese, organic flaxseed, and air dried vegetables. There are no preservatives, so these need to go in the fridge after opening. (Good thing they go in the fridge, or Rita would be camping out in the pantry hoping for more to fall from the heavens.)

Cruncherz: These are crunchy, grain-free, gluten-free treats that come in various flavors: Ginger Yaps, Ocean Dreams, Pumpkin Patch and Peace Berry. We got the Ginger Yaps.
Ingredients: organic buckwheat flour, honey, organic canola oil, organic ginger, organic parsley. So... I learned something doing this post... (besides that Rita loves all these treats). I didn't know that buckwheat isn't a grain. Buckwheat is actually a berry! Huh.

SuperGravy: Another winner; this holistic instant gravy mix is meant to be mixed in with your dog's dry food plus some warm water. We always mix in either canned organic food or some re-hydrated raw food with Rita's dry dinner, so we added a bit of this as well and she gobbled it up. The fact that it includes heart and liver probably had something to do with that!

Ingredients: Bison liver, organic beef liver, beef liver, organic beef heart, cold milled chia seed, dried organic veggies (spinach, pumpkin, and carrot), ascorbic acid (natural preservative & source of vitamin C).

Rita's a fan!
You should definitely check out their site as there's lots of info there (their philosophy, awards they've won, etc.) and there's also a store locator, or option to purchase goodies online. I'm sure any pup you know would be very happy to find some Clear Conscience Pet treats in his/her stocking!

Review Disclosure: I received no monetary compensation for this review. I was given a free product to review and the opinions shared are my own. I would never share a product that I didn't feel 100% comfortable giving to my own dog!

Thank you to Kol’s Notes and Sugar the Golden Retriever, the hosts of Tasty Tuesday!

  1. Oh, I tried the Sliders way back in April and they were delicious. I also got a Beef Tender Stickz too which was super yummy. So glad Rita enjoyed all those fabulous treats!

  4. I was in contact with a company a few months ago that claimed "Made in the USA" but the man on the phone told me no company could tell where all their ingredients were sourced. Wrong answer.

  6. Is that a Greyhound on the front of that bag of Cruncherz? We might have to try it for that alone!
