A Wordy T-shirt on Wordless Wednesday

Today I'm belatedly sharing one of my "surprise" Christmas presents. (And by "surprise" I mean: I ordered it, checked it out when it arrived, then pretended to forget about it until Xmas morning. But the hubs did wrap it. And by "wrap it" I mean: stick it in a gift bag. Lest you think that's laziness, no! It's just being green. Okay, and maybe a little lazy. We have these dog-themed gift bags that we've probably been using for a decade or more!)

Anyway, here it is!

It's one of the custom offerings from Dog City & Co. You send them a side-shot photo of your pup, and they make it into a silhouette. You can pick the color for the T, for the accent words (like "Rita" and "Pooch Smooches" on mine) and choose a selection of words you wanted added.
Here it is close up. I had them add things like beagle-shepherd mix, cuddle, guardian, rescue, etc. Isn't it cute?! If I get my act together and make it to Blog Paws, I'm sure you'll see me sporting this one of the days!

In Other News...
It was Rita's Gotcha Day yesterday! Two years we've had her! She got a Gotcha-day pizzle to celebrate.
This weekend we'll take her to In N Out for a Flying Dutchman to extend the celebrations, since Daddy missed most of the day being at work.

Some Belated Thank Yous
I wanted to do some quick shout-outs and thank yous to folks who recently did book reviews or interviews:

First, thank you to Emma the GBGV and her mom for reviewing What the Dog Ate a couple of weeks ago. If you haven't checked out Emma's blog or her adorable book, Tales of a French Scent Hound, you need to!

Next, thank you to Molly the Wally for the lovely things she said about Rescue Me, Maybe!

Finally, thank you to Lydia at Novel Escapes for the fun "Would you rather..." interview. You can probably guess my picks on a few (Drama or comedy? Hmm. That's a toughie, right? Dogs or cats? Gee, hmm, not sure.) but stop by to see if I choose zombies or vampires? Camping or spa vacation? And the really hard question: Chips, chocolate or cheese?

Sorry I was so wordy!

P.S. I was not paid to review the Dog City & Co. tee. I purchased the shirt on my own and wanted to review it cuz it's so cute.

    1. Yes, at least it was a Christmas bag!

Oh Pip. We miss her so. She may be gone, but she is definitely not forgotten.

  7. Love the 'wordy' t-shirt, I wonder if they make them in cats silhouettes too.

    1. I believe so - since they are custom designs, I don't see why they couldn't do a cat?!

  8. Hi Jackie, I found you through Mollly the Wally and her review of Rescue Me, Maybe. I downloaded onto kindle (at 77p from Amazon UK who could resist?) and am now well on my way to having serious pun overload and forty a day chuckle habit! Love your dry (practically arid) sense of humour :)

Please don't hold it against me that I appear to be a cat person. I went to the shelter to get a dog but a little world-weary seen-it-all-before tuxie tripped me up on the way in!

    1. Hi Carolyn! Thanks for stopping by. So glad you're enjoying the book! Love what you said about my "practically arid" sense of humor. :)

As for the tuxie that tripped you up... Don't tell Rita, but I have a huge soft spot for tuxies! We had one adopt us when we lived in Bermuda. She was SUCH a sweetheart. But, sadly, Rita hates cats so I don't think we can have one as long as she's around.

    2. Unless cats and dogs are introduced at a very early age, it's rare that they will take to one another! Austin the tux is terrified of dogs! :(

    3. Aww, poor Austin. We got Rita when she was already 7 months or so old, and she had obviously never had a nice intro to cats!

  9. Love that t-shirt! I have their Lab shirt in the same color and have my eye on some pillows to give as gifts. Hope Rita got the gala celebration she deserved last night :-) Headed over to read your interview.

I had to go back and read about the Flying Dutchman - genius! I freaking LOVE In N Out Burger and have to stop at one whenever I can on my travels (animal style, please - but not the fries, too - that's excessive). I've never been to one with the dogs, but now I know what to get them if I ever do! Great way to celebrate a Gotcha Day!

  21. Happy gotcha day, Rita.

Love the tee shirt. I would have to decide if I wanted a Poodle show do or pet clip, but I must add to my dog clothes collection for me.

  22. That t-shirt is so awesome! I love that design style anyway, but I didn't know you could get a custom one made for your own dog.
Happy Gotcha Day to Rita, and I hope you all enjoy your extended celebrations this weekend!
